Ja, hier berichte ich über alle News ... Hab die Seite umgestellt, so dass die neusten News nun als erstes kommen und die alten weiter unten sind. (damit man nicht soviel scrollen muss, was einige leute ja gar nicht moegen...;))

5/19: so much has happened... I am on running crew for Streetcar, that means, that I make sure that the actors get their props and I move stuff on stage during the scene changes. It's a lot of fun.:) Tomorrow is the last show, it's sooo sad! I don't want it to end! Lia and Katie (friends of mine, also on props crew, well Lia is actually Stagemanager, but she is still on props because without her we wouldn't be complete ) already said they'll hide me in the props room, so I can't go home and can stay for Theater next year. Yay! But then they'll have to fight with my Tennis and gymnastics coach . Last night we had a cast party (streetcar cast) and we got lost on the way and found another street with the same name... It was really funny though, since almost everybody got lost I think... And on the way back we got lost again... But only a little bit. Today we also had our last band concert (it was outside, so it was pretty cool) and an AFS orientation (not as boring as they usually are, but still kinda not necessary). Next week-end is memorial day (we've monday off). It's so sad, we've like 4 weeks of school left and in 6 weeks I am back in germany! I don't wanna leave here!!! Oh, btw I added a new section: Poems and Stories...

4/28: We had a fundraiser today from AFS... We met at 6.45(!) am on a saturday morning! horrible! but it was kinda fun. It's the graduation of the UfM students today and they all had to go in the Stadion were the graduation was. But before they had to go by a photographer and have their picture taken. Therefore they had to fill out a card with their name/phone number... And our job was to hand them these cards and pencils. It took aout 2/2.5 hours to get 7000 graduates through... And it was really fun to look at them, some looked just ridiculous!

4/26: Wow, the last two weeks since we're back from florida went by so quickly and were really busy... It was my dad's birthday and I made him a birthdaycake, a Schwarzwaelder Kirsch It actually tasted really good... This Tuesday I went to the German class again; they're doing Faust right now... A vereinfacht version... It's quiet interesting, though... Yesterday we had a show (wizard of Oz) for the elementary schools and I did House (ushering). There were so many little kids! And they came like half an hour too late! But it was fun and I got to be backstage during the show... Right now we're doing props for A Streetcar named Desire. It's fun and we don't have a lot to do yet, but we still need a fridge form the 40s... And maybe I can do running crew for Streetcar... that would be pretty exciting 6 weeks until Finals!

4/14: We are back from Florida! It was great, even though I have a cold (with coughing, headache and running nose) and a burned back now. I wrote a veeery long (about two pages in word) report, what we did everyday (--> Florida!!). Here is the shortform: It was almost every day around 30C, we went swimming in the pool and in the ocean, lay at the beach in the sun, built suncastles/cities, saw dolphins, pelicans, snakes and rabbits on the beach, had almost every day ice cream, saw and ate alligator, got some new jewlery (with shells and shark teeth) and had a very good time!! Pictures kommen auch noch bald...

3/26: heyhu! Noch 4 days until Florida!!!!!! (yes, i count the days:)) mir gehts supi, n bissle im stress aber ansonsten Gymnastics is over now (I want to have practice again!!!), but I am in Theater Guild (=AG) now, in the Props Crew (=requisiten), it's a lot of fun. We are doing the Wizard of Oz right now...achja, hab neue pictures (friends), check 'em out!

3/6: Jo, hab mich ja schon lange nimmer gemeldet... Mir gehts immer noch gut, Gymnastics is Fun Letzte woche hatten wir ne woche ferien (jeden Tag practice, von daher nicht so viel gemacht). Naechste Woche ham wir auch Di und Mi frei, Do spaeter schule und Fr geh ich zum German Day an der University of Michigan, das heisst ich hab da auch keine Shcule Dann sinds noch 2 Wochen und wir sind weg in FLORIDA fuer fast ZWEI WOCHEN!!! That's so exciting: Pool im backyard, beach, sun, plam-trees (hab ich euch jetzt alle schoen neidisch gemacht? *gg*) Dafuer hats hier noch keine 17 C sondern es hat immer noch SCHNEE und es ist eisig kalt!! Heut Nacht solls auch wieder so 10 cm schneien... Vllt wenn wir Glueck ham ist dann morgen keine Schule Das faend ich supi, weil wir ham ne Band rehersal morgen Abend und die muesste dann halt LEIDER *lach* auch ausfallen Der Germanday next friday ist ein wettbewerb zwischen high school student who take German Ich geh zur Zeit immer mal wieder in die German class von meiner freundin (I love that class, it's so much fun and if I wouldn't have to take Math, I would switch into that class ) und da ham sie halt die skits fuer German day geplant als ichs letzte mal da war und dann wurd ich gefragt, ob ich nicht mitspielen will Sure I want Das wars erst mal soweit, miss u all und lad jetzt dann vllt auch noch bilder hoch Gruessles

1/13: Letzte Woche war wieder Schule... Am Mittwoch hatten wir ein Gymnastics Meet (= competition) @ Pioneer (meine Schule). Wir haben gewonnen! Und sind dann um viertel vor 10 nach Hause gekommen, nachdem wir auch erst wieder alle Geraete aus der grossen Gym in unsren Gymnasticsroom bringen mussten. Ihr koennt euch vorstellen wie muede ich am naechsten Tag war... Donnerstag abend bin ich dann schon um 9 oder so ins Bett heute hatten wir auch ein Meet mit 11 Teams. We got 6th, but it was our best teamscore for this year, so it was pretty good. We had to be @ Pionner at 7 (!) am and we came home at 7pm. as you can see (or read) I can't speak German anymore. I always mix in English expressions (or speak completly in English, like right now.) Ist schon ganz lustig, z.B. Sie hat ihre Grade gechanged, or See you heut abend...

An weihnachten waren wir ihn Canada @ my dad's parents. Since they aer Germans, we celebrated German and American, what basicly means, that we got presents at the 24th in the evening and also in the morning of the 25th (santa comes here at the 25th). The only bad thing was taht we didn't have snow! they said, that it was the first time since they live there (=23 years) that they didn't have white christmas... We got a little bit (about 1 cm) of snow at the 28th, so we could at least go a little bit sledding. (notice what? I speak in english again; it's just so much easier and it sounds better and isn't as complicated as German).

For New Years we went to Muskegon to friends. They had a little party at New Years Eve (Silvester) and it was ok, but it was so strange not to go out at midnight and boellern you heard right, it's not allowed to do fireworks here. New Years Eve is by far less tahn it is in Germany. Probably because they have July 4th. That's the day when all the parades and fireworks and I don't know what else is. It is really sad, because I think, I'll come home just before it. I am supposed to leave here at the 25th of June (my Hostmum's Birthday [great birthday gift...:( ]) and then I'll saty a week in washington, DC. That would mean, that we'll leave at the 2nd or 3rd of July.

12/27: Jaja, mich gibts auch noch! Hoff, ihr hattet alle schoene Weihanchten und wuensch euch nen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr!

28.10.: Heute war ich bei einer Halloweenparty:) Es war so cool! Hat super Spass gemacht! Am Anfang haben wir die ganze Zeit TT und Kicker gespielt und dann hatten sie Karaoke und wir ham dann die ganze Zeit getanzt. War so viel Fun!!! achja, gibt nochmal neue Bilder --> Halloween

27.10.: Wir haben heute unsere Pumpkins fuer Halloween gecarvt For Results see Pictures (es lohnt sich, sie sehen super aus!!!)

21.10.: Heute waren wir den ganzen Tag in Detroit mit AFS. Wir sind hier um 7.15 losgefahren... Als wir angekommen sind, sind wir erst mal fruehstuecken gegeangen, big Farmer's Special: Eier, Potatoes, Ham, Bacon and Sausage.. Yummy! Dann warn wir bei so einem Projekt, das ist ein Kuenstler und der hat sein Haus angemalt und in der ganzen Strasse verruecktes Zuegs gemacht (z.b. Stofftiere an nen Baum gehaengt...) (Bilder kommen noch...) Danach sind wir dann Downtown gefahren, waren beim HardRock cafe , und sind dann zu einem Greek Restaurant gegangen um Lunch zu essen... War voll lecker! Ich hatte einen Salat (Phil:"What, only a salad?"), but der war riesig!!! Leckerer Greek salat mit Oliven, Feta, Tomaten und Gyros on top :) Danach war ich soo voll! (Hab dann den restlichen tag auch nix mehr gegessen (ausser schoko..:)) Danach sind wir zum DIA (Detroit Institut of Art) gegangen... Ja war ja ganz interessant, aber wir hatten vielzuviel Zeit... Hatten 2 Stunden und wir warn dann nach 45 min oder so fertig... Naja, ich bin die ganze zeit mit Didi (auch ein exchange student aus D.) rumgelaufen und wir ham schoene duetsche musik von sienem iPod gehoert War schon ganz lustig... Danach sind wir zu einem anderen Museum gelaufe, waren aber nur im Eingang, da haben sie einen Sound-Dom... Da war ein grosser Kreis aufm Boden und wenn einer auf der einen und ein anderer auf der anderen Seite stand, konntest du ganz normal reden und hast den anderen gehoert:) War cool... Danach sind wir noch in die Libary gegangen, da war ein grosser Globus und dort haben wir noch ein Foto gemacht... Danach sind wir dann wieder nach Hause gefahren...

12.10.: Es ist unglaublich!!! Heute hats geschneit!!!! Und zwar richig geschneit und dazu noch gewindet, sodass es ein richtiger Schneesturm war! Und wir hatten Tennistraining!!! (Als es zwischendurch mal kurz net geschneit hat, aber es war soooooo eiskalt!!!) Der Schnee ist zwar nicht liegengeblieben, aber es waren richtig grosse Flocken! It NEVER EVER snowed before my birthday!!!! It's so crazy!!!

11.10.: Jetzt meld ich mich endlich auch mal wieder...
Bin heute mal endlich zur einer normalsterblichen time aus der Schule  gekommen...:) Tennis ist ausgefallen und ich hatte a ride home, musste also nicht laufen, und war dann 20 vor 3 hier
Ansonsten waren wir vorletztes WE in Canda die Eltern von meinem Dad besuchen...War cool:) Da beginnt der Wald (und ich mein richtiger Wald, nicht nur ein paar baeume) direkt hinterm Haus... Da sind wir dann ein bissle rumgewandert und so...
Letztes WE warn wir campen... War zwar ein bisschen kalt am Freitagabend, aber ansonsten auch toll... es war an einem See und Sontagmorgen sind wir dann noch Kajaken gegangen... Hab mein erstes Zwischenzeugnis, Notenbericht was auch immer begommen (A=1, E=6): Band A, Latein A, Mathe A-, Chem A American Studies A and English A Also mir gehts hier supergut...:)

10.9.: So "die erste Schulewoche" (s. Menu...) ist rum....

9.9.: Heute Abend waren hier Freunde von meiner Family zum Dinner (3 familys mit nem Haufen kleiner Kids) und danach haben wir wieder einen Movie im Backyard angeschaut: Brother Bear 2 (= Baerenbrueder 2) ist cute! Und ich habe diesmal nun 3 moskitobites!:) 

7.9.: Als wir heute gerade beim Abendessen waren, gabs ploetzlich einen riesen Krach. Ich dachte, dass irgendwas umgefallen ist und kaputt geht und immer noch mehr faellt. Mike dachte, es waere ein Flugzeug crash und absturz. Kurze Zeit spaeter haben wir gemerkt, dass es ein Donner war! Solchen Donner habe ich noch nie gehoert, vor allem, weil die Sonne geschienen hat! War aber ganz lustig, weil sogut wie alle raus auf die Strasse gelaufen sind und unglaeubig in den Himmel geschaut haben...

2.9.: Gestern Abend nach dem Turnier haben wir im Garten noch einen Film angeschaut (Leinwand und Beamer). War nett, aber ich sass da dann halt in meiner kurzen Tennishose, noch verschwitzt und da waren Moskitos... --> 31 Stiche... AUAAAAAA!!!!

1.9.: Heute war ein Tennisturnier und ich habe einen Pokal gewonnen! Wir sind um 5 Uhr morgens (kein joke!) hier losgefahrn... Hat sich aber gelohnt, war voll cool und hat Spass gemacht! (Ich hatte endlich mal schwerere Gegner....^^)

29.8.: Ich bin jetzt seit Samstag bei meiner richtigen Gastfamily. Die sind alle super nett! Am Sonntag war eine AFS-Party fuer Exchange students und ihr Hostfamilies. War voll lustig, des war an einem See und wir sind dann auch mit dem Motorboot raus... Hat voll Spass gemacht!  

23.8.: Unser erstes Tennismatch. Wir haben gewonnen! Es wurden nur Doppel gespielt, aber das waren dann so 12, 13... Und Pioneer (unser Team) hat alle gewonnen! (Ok, unsere Gegner waren auch verdammt schlecht...) Der schlechteste Satz war 6:3 oder 6:4 (fuer uns )

22.8.: War heute wieder in der Schule zur "registration". Da wurden dann auch die Fotos fuers Yearbook und die ID (sowas wie ein schuelerausweis(?)) gemacht....

20.8.: Heut haben wir vom tennisteam Car wash gemacht. Das war bei einer Tankstelle und dann sind halt ein paar von uns mit Schildern rum gestanden und haben geschrien "car wash,  get you car washed!" u.ae. (und wirklich geschrien, nach einer Stunde oder so, hatte ich (fast) keine Stimme mehr *grins*) Und der Rest hat die Autos, die dann gekommen sind, gewaschen und dann wieder abgetrocknet. War lustig!

18.8.: Juhuuuuuu, ich bin im Tennisteam von der Schule! Gestern war Tryout und heute waren wir dann im athletic office und haben mich registriert. Die hat zuerst noch rumgemacht, mein Health-Formular vom Arzt waer nicht ok, aber dann wars doch. *glueckgehabt*

17.8.: Heut war ich das erste Mal in der Schule drin. Aber nur um meine classes auszusuchen Hab jetzt Band, Latein, Mathe (Algebra), Chemie, American Studies (so aehlich wie Geschichte) und Englisch.
